Cookies
This page describes cookies and similar storage used on devtracebase.digital. It complements the privacy notice. A consent banner appears on your first visit. Accept and Reject are both available. Your choice is stored locally under the key devtracebase_cookie_consent.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a site stores in your browser. Local storage entries can play a similar role. Some are required for basic functions. Others help us understand which pages are useful. You can use the site if you reject optional cookies.
Types we use
Essential. These remember that you have seen and answered the cookie banner, and they keep the site usable. They do not profile you for marketing.
Analytics (optional). Only if you accept. These help us see which programmes and journal posts are opened, in aggregate. Rejecting them does not hide content, forms, or navigation.
Cookies table
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
| devtracebase_cookie_consent | Stores whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies | Until you clear site data (localStorage) | Devtracebase (first party) |
| dtb_session_guard | Helps detect abusive automated traffic to forms | Session | Devtracebase (first party) |
| dtb_page_hint | Optional aggregate page counts when analytics are accepted | 13 months | Devtracebase (first party) |
| _ga / similar | Optional measurement of page use if a hosted analytics tag is enabled after consent | Up to 14 months | Third-party analytics vendor, only if configured and accepted |
How to manage or disable cookies
Use Accept or Reject on the banner. To change a later choice, clear this site’s cookies and local storage in your browser and reload; the banner will appear again. You can also block cookies entirely in browser settings. Blocking essential storage may cause the banner to reappear each visit.
Third-party cookies
Embedded fonts are requested from Google Fonts. That request may allow Google to see your IP address and user agent. We do not load marketing pixels. If a future analytics vendor is added, it will run only after Accept and will be listed in the table above.
Impact of disabling
Rejecting optional analytics does not remove courses, journal articles, or the contact form. You may see the cookie banner again after clearing storage. Some browsers that block all cookies will also block the saved consent flag.
